The second essay of the semester asks you to write about a specific process or way to do something. The types of processes we are writing about are not those for which specific training or qualifications are required (e.g. how to perform a specific type of surgery) or which cannot be adequately explained without some supporting visual or diagram (e.g. how to change the transmission of a car). We are focusing on simple, everyday processes that a majority of us encounter. In addition, we are not dealing with processes that would normally take an extended time (months or years) to complete (e.g. how to earn a bachelor’s degree).
